Physical activity plays a very important part of a woman’s overall health. For example, the Centers for Disease Control determined in the year 2000 that the second actual leading cause of death was physical inactivity and poor diet choices. Four of the top five leading causes of death in the United States are the following:
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- Some cancers
- Stroke
All of the above diseases are directly linked with physical “ inactivity”. Even though physical activity has been established to improve health and even decrease the risk for the above diseases, too few women are physically active.
