  Tendinitis

Tendinitis involves inflammation of any Tendon in the body. A Tendon is the fibrous cord that attaches muscle to bone. Because the tendons are so dense, they do not stretch as well as other types of soft tissue.  Therefore, tendons can become easily irritated with repetitive body movements that place a continuous pull on them. Tendinitis usually only affects one area of the body at a time, and in most cases lasts a short time. Tendinitis can last for a prolonged period of time when and if the affected tendon or tendons are continuously irritated (Irritated Tendons). Tendonitis can be extremely difficult to deal with when your daily job and/or athletic activities put a strain on the same IrritatedTendons on a regular basis.  When the tendon rubs abnormally over the bursa, the resulting inflammation is known as Bursitis.  The most common areas of Tendonitis are as follows:

  • Elbow Tendinitis
  • Wrist Tendinitis
  • Biceps Tendinitis
  • Shoulder Tendinitis
  • Leg Tendinitis
  • Knee Tendinitis (Patellar Tendinitis)
  • Ankle Tendinitis
  • Hip Tendinitis
  • Achilles Tendinitis
